Index – Domestic – Open day at the palace and the inauguration of Rúzsa Magdi concert by Katalin Novák

On March 10, the National Assembly elected Katalin Novák as President of the Republic, replacing János Áder, who is saying goodbye after ten years. On Tuesday, May 10, Katalin Novák took over the keys to the Sándor Palace from the outgoing head of state. The inauguration of the new President of the Republic will take place on Saturday, May 14th.

The inauguration ceremony began at 8:30 a.m. with an ecumenical worship service at the Calvin Square Reformed Church.

The second point of the program will be the ceremonial ceremony in Kossuth Square, which will start at 11 am, with several performers: pianists János Balázs and Viktória Kádár, singer Magdolna Rúzsa, the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble and the Angelica Girls’ Choir. Katalin Novák will give a speech in the square.

The Alexander Palace will be open to the public at 1 pm and will be open until 6 pm.
