20 die in Delhi fire near Mundka metro station West

At least 20 people have been killed in a fire that broke out in a three-storey building near the Mundka metro station in west Delhi. The death toll is expected to rise as more people are trapped inside the building, fire officials said. (20 die in Delhi fire near Mundka metro station)

According to available information, 12 people were injured in the fire. All of them are being treated at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. The condition of many who are being treated for injuries is critical. The fire broke out on three floors, DCP Sameer Sharma was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

There are 24 fire engines in place to put out the fire. The fire broke out at around 4.40 pm, Delhi Fire Services officials said. The first 10 fire brigade units arrived on the scene. Later, 14 more units were deployed to control the fire.
